Artist Bio
Sam Amidon is an independent folk artist from Vermont, USA. He has just released his third album 'I See The Sign' on the esteemed Icelandic ‘Bedroom Community’ label. Amidon’s music mixes intuitive interpretations of age-old Appalachian songs, experimental indie-rock and heart felt folk wisdom fermenting finely into a mature mix of cockle warming aural moonshine!.
“Beth Orton appears on Mr. Amidon’s excellent forthcoming album, “I See the Sign,” and their pairing makes sense: as she once did, he’s trying to see how rawboned, lonely-voiced traditional folk can be updated for city life. There’s no doubt that he has listened hard and widely: at times he sounds in search of the places where Dock Boggs and Arthur Russell connect.” - New York Times
